ATTORNEY - THOMAS von THURY

THOMAS von THURY is a tough, experienced litigator and trial attorney with over thirty years of experience in the dispute resolution trenches representing clients in civil and business trials, litigation and alternative dispute resolution.  He has successfully represented hundreds of business plaintiffs and defendants in mediations, arbitrations and litigation in California, Colorado and Illinois state courts and in many federal district courts, including appeals in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the California State Court of Appeals.  Tom’s alternative dispute resolution, litigation and trial experience includes many years of service as General Counsel to a major manufacturer/importer of automotive and consumer electronics.  He is a practical, street smart attorney who understands the business world’s need for expeditious, cost effective resolution of business disputes.  Tom understands that litigation is seldom the most cost effective solution to a business dispute, and that if a dispute can not be settled without litigation, some form of alternative dispute resolution is usually a more cost effective method of resolving a dispute than an action in state or federal court.  But Tom also knows from experience that, sometimes, there is no alternative to a toe-to-toe battle in state or federal court and that, in such cases, experience, expertise and preparation are the keys to success.

Tom graduated with a B.A. from Southern Illinois University and a J.D. from John Marshall Law School in Chicago, IL.  He has been admitted to practice and practiced in California, Colorado, Illinois and before the U. S. Supreme Court.
